Importing and exporting namespaces

Corteza makes it easy to export entire namespaces which can then be imported into an entirely different Corteza instance.

To export the namespace:
  1. go to Corteza Low Code,

  2. click on the Edit button for the namespace you wish to export,

  3. click on the Export button in the top-left corner to export the namespace,

  4. save the .zip file.

To import the namespace:
  1. go to Corteza Low Code,

  2. click on the Import button for the top-left corner,

  3. drag’n’drop the .zip file into the file drop area.

The exported namespace will exclude workflow references and access control permissions. Those need to be configured manually after the fact.

Importing records from CSV

Records can be imported into a module from a CSV file with the Import button on the record list. The first row of the file must hold the column names, which are then mapped to module fields.

Cell values
  • Text that contains the delimiter, line breaks or quotes must be enclosed in double quotes, and a quote inside such a value is written twice ("5"" pipe"). Line breaks inside quoted text are kept.

  • Numbers use a period as the decimal separator (1.5) and no thousands separator. A value that is not a number, such as 1,5, fails the row.

  • Dates are written as YYYY-MM-DD and date-times as YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MM:SSZ (RFC 3339), YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MM:SS or YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS. Date-times without a timezone are read as UTC, and values in an unrecognised format are left empty. Time-only fields accept HH:MM:SS and HH:MM.

  • Record and user fields expect the ID of the referenced record or user.

Multi-value fields

Values of a multi-value field are written into a single cell and separated by the delimiter selected in the import dialog (; by default), optionally enclosed in brackets ([v1;v2]). Pick a delimiter that does not appear inside the values; the selected delimiter is applied to every cell, so with , a text such as Hello, world is split as well.
